About me

I am Xinchi Chen, a professor at the Institute of Trustworthy Embodied AI, College of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing, Fudan University, with a joint affiliation at the College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Fudan University. I am also a key faculty member of OpenMOSS Lab led by Prof. Xipeng Qiu. Prior to that, I was a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon AWS AI Lab. I was a PostDoc in School of Informatics at University of Edinburgh working with Prof. Ivan Titov. I obtained my PhD at Fudan University, advised by Prof. Xuanjing Huang and Prof. Xipeng Qiu. My research interests are about agents, reinforcement learning, multimodality, etc. My research achievements have been awarded ACL outstanding paper, etc. I also serve as the area chair for multiple international conferences.

Openings: I am looking for motivated students and interns interested in research, applications, or startups related to agents, reinforcement learning, and multimodality.

  • For prospective Master’s or direct-entry Ph.D. students, please first apply to the relevant Fudan University program through the appropriate college, either the College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence or the College of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing, depending on your academic background and application track.   • For students who intend to pursue a Ph.D. degree, either after completing a Master’s degree or directly from undergraduate studies, I also recommend paying close attention to the doctoral selection/admission programs organized by the Shanghai Innovation Institute, such as its seasonal selection camps and related recruitment programs.
